Things I’m diggin on…

Happy Friday. We made it. It was touch and go there for a little.

This weekend we celebrate the wedding of a dear friend! Congrats team Ortiz. Cannot wait to celebrate.

I’m rocking some fall nails & lips this week, and loving every bit of it. Sorry summer, I’m cheating on you.

B&A

Love, love, love it! I was nervous, not going to lie. Rachael @ Baxter & Co. in Franklin is the bomb.com. Run, don’t walk and go see her today!

I’ll be back with why I’ve been so MIA recently tomorrow.

My Makeup Counter Goods

Since I did a post on drugstore goods, and it was well received, I found it only fitting to do a makeup counter version as well! Let you in on some of my war paint secrets! Here are my current favs:

Smashbox Limitless Eye Liner in Onyx

I LOVE this stuff. It goes on smooth, doesn’t fade or bleed, and is a true black. I’m on my 4th pencil, and they last for months!

MAC Lustreglass in Love Nectar

It’s a peachy neutral that flatters anyone that wears it. For day, I wear this solo. At night I use MAC lip pencil in Whirl.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer in Original

I am an addict with this stuff. When I’m sans makeup on the weekends or at the lake, I’ll put this on over my moisturizer to keep shine at bay.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Sand

I like a full coverage foundation. I loathe touching up my makeup in the middle of the day. This one really stays in place. Even at 5 pm, my makeup still looks great. Only con is it only has SPF 10. Why bother? I’m a firm believer in having your SPF in your moisturizer, aka the layer closest to your skin. I feel like if you’re using a moisturizer, then primer, then foundation with SPF, does that top layer really sink in and protect you? No idea. Yes, these are the random things I think about.

Happy Thursday!

My Drugstore Goods

Sometimes the best things under your bathroom sink can be found at your local drugstore. Here are my favs:

Purpose Cleansing Bar

This stuff is amazing for my SUPER sensitive skin, hello allergies. It doesn’t strip away good oils, but takes off all makeup and rinses clean.

Olay Complete All Day UV Moisturizer, Sensitive Skin

Another tried and true. Noticing a sensitive skin theme here? Yes, this girl is even allergic to bare minerals which come FROM THE EARTH, so I guess I’m allergic to the earth. Cool.

L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara, Black

This stuff doesn’t clump, gives good lash and doesn’t flake. All wins. If you knew me in college, I was even using it then. You would also know that I once “tried” a tube of the FAMOUS maybelline pink and green tube stuff. Woke up with swollen shut eyes. NO JOKE. I’ve never turned on my longest friend again.

Suave Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo

This stuff is AMAZING. I even use it on clean hair for volume. I wouldn’t recommend it for my dark headed friends as it tends to go a little white. It’s also perfect for covering roots, not that I have any since this IS my natural hair color…when I was 5.

TGIF! We’ve got a BUSY fun filled weekend ahead. Cheers!

Splurge vs Steal

A girlfriend did a post on this yesterday, and I commented on my HD powder swap, but last night it hit me about another swap that I found. Please excuse the quality of pictures coming your way…it’s dark  out and the lighting up in this bia in terrible.

I received a clinique quad during a gift with purchase event that I fell in love with.

It’s almost gone now (well 2 of the colors) so I set out to replace the quad. Easy enough, right? Well Clinique is smart. You cannot buy that quad…you need to buy four different shadows/sets to recreate that look. Sneaky sneaky. So I searched and searched and honestly found one from N.Y.C. for $3.99. Can you believe it???

Splurge (replacements to recreate desired quad):

Steal:

How’s THAT for a steal vs splurge!!! That’s $77 in savings, and you can take that to the bank…literally. Here are the colors swatched on a napkin…Clinique on top, N.Y.C. on the bottom. Identical.

Happy Friday y’all!
